Do these scores correlate at all to actual scores? I am a current pre-med considering converting to dental, and I know that the Kaplan MCAT diag. was overly difficult.

Anyway, my scores were:

Academic Average16.87

- Biology16

> Quantitative Reasoning18Perceptual Ability Test14
I really had no idea about the perceptual ability test, so that low score was a result of reading directions and running out of time. Also, the reading comp. score should be WAY higher. My computer froze with ten questions remaining, so they were all left unanswered in that section.

My main question though is, should I bother taking the DAT now after studying up a bit on the perceptual ability and the differences in DAT sciences as compared to MCAT (i know there were a lot of bio Q's regarding species, different organisms, etc. that I hadn't studied)? Or should I wait until the next cycle to take it and apply?

Any input is appreciated. 🙂

The diagnostic is not nearly as difficult as the current DAT. Personally, I find Kaplan to be a bit archaic now and are in need of massive updates to their curriculum, even their online resources.

A 16.87 isn't a bad score on the diag for taking the test cold.

diagnostics are there to show you what you need to improve on and give you a starting point. Do the work, and read the kaplan blue book. You will see your scores go up.

PAT get easier once it is explained to you and you have some pointers.

I took Kaplan and it prepares you if you make the effort. IF you put the time in then you should see results in no time.
