Kaplan Diagnostic Test

Hi .. I am starting my Kaplan course this Saturday. I signed up last minute so this is a last minute question for those who took Kaplan.. did you study for the diagnostic test for the first class of Kaplan? Also, it's kind of too late for me to change it anyway -- since I paid, but this course is only once a week for three months (4/30-7/23) -- is that just like prolonging my study process? Do I really need three months to study for the DAT? Well, or, can I just take the DAT on 7/24?
