This section smoked me, i got an 8, ive nevr scored that low on a bio section before, im scared 🙁

did anyone else find this section troublesome or did i just slip up bigtime?

overall breakdown on this mornings practice:

PS: 12 (highest ever 🙂
VR: 9 (i have gotten 8 9s in a row, god damnit)
BS: 8 (never had below a 9 before)

i guess i have no choice but to write this one off as a fluke 😕

i only got 42% of the biology subject questions right (WTF never happened)

1 for 6 on digestive
0 for 3 on euk cell
1 for 4 on nervous system
1 for 3 on reproductive

ive had issues on euk cell and repro before but never on digestive and nervous.

and as it turns out, i got destroyed on the two passages about them getting 5 out of 6 wrong in the intestinal passage and 4 out of 5 wrong in the neuron passage.

both passages had a couple of bizarrely worded questions that i still dont think i can get right even after the explanations lol id say about 5 questions i got wrong were stupid idiot mistakes that I shouldn't have, the rest, shrug

I thought some of the o-chem was challenging

Don't think of the PS as a fluke.. it was REALLY hard. I normally get 12 PS on the real AAMCs.. but thought Kaplan 4's PS to be the hardest one yet (got a 11).

I've always found Kaplan's BS to be much harder than the AAMCs. But in the end, my score ends up being about the same on the AAMCs. I got a 69% right for a 12. It was also hard.

Verbal.. don't even ask haha.. I was sooo sleepy (somethings wrong with me) and couldn't concentrate at all. Went down to an 8 from a 12 on the FL #3 (now that 12 was def. a fluke)

haha, i meant the bio was a fluke, id like to think i can get a 12 on PS on test day, (ive gotten nothing lower than 10s so far) but the bio was just ridiculous.. i could get 46% right by guessing, i just dont know how that happened at all

Heres an example of the type of questions i got thrown at me on this one:

What is the mode of inheritance of the genetic disorder depicted in the following pedigree chart?
function showPopupFigure(id) { var div = document.getElementById(id); div.style.top = 100; div.style.left = 100; div.style.display = 'block'; } function hidePopupFigure(id) { var div = document.getElementById(id); div.style.display = 'none'; }

Yeah obviously it looks like a recessive tree, but i chose dominant because I know that no one with Tay Sachs is having any kids, so how can that possibly be it, what a stupid question

well i punished my performance by taking another bio science section test tonite, got 73% total and 5/6 digestive 4/4 nervous

much more in line with what ive been getting, phew, just a crazy fluke

Nice job.

I'm actually doing way better on the Fls on BS than on the section tests.. on the section tests, I can't seem to crack 70%. But on the FLs I get 70 - 85% on the BS.

For some reason I remember the section tests used to give me way more trouble than the FLs also.

they seem to be slanted based on the time frame the syllabus recommends you do them.. so subject test 2 tends to have many only the first third of the course as testable.

well i got full length #5 out of the way today

opposite results

9, 10, 11 =30 total

so at least im back on the 30 level

physical science section seemed really tough for me today and so did the verbal (very long wordy passages and only 27 correct yielded me a 10), and the bio i felt like i had a good grasp on, im actually surprised i didnt do better there.

looks like i need some major work still at solution chemistry and electrochemistry as well as light and optics (which i thought i had down)

agreed re fl#4! i think this was the hardest one so far. Went up 1 point in PS (fluke?) and down THREE points in verbal reasoning. (10/9/10) Gosh. I did think the Verbal section was tough, but not THAT tough. Im gonna punish myself w/ another FL on tuesday. oh well 🙁
