The VR spike representing the most challenging section of the most recent administration seems contrary to what was reported here.

You are right, it is kind of interesting. I never commented on how the passages on form AG were tough for me to read. But, just getting the main idea and tracking down the details in the passage got me through it. However, I felt a bit nervous because my first passage was the Napoleon passage and second the Anne Dillard Passage, and third was the New Journalism (I think it was the first passage on my test). They were all pretty tough to read but getting the main idea for them and using Process of Elimination helped me make it through!! I hope there is a big curve.

I was glad to see the increase in difficulty for BS and VR because that it the way I felt. I took it last August when I thought the PS was hardest.

I love that one about someone playing scooby doo and the flintstones on a saxophone outside of the testing center

Oh my god....I was AT that testing center! That guy started playing jingles from tv shows and would switch every 10-15 seconds. A testtaker next to me commented that just when he'd get used to one song and start to refocus on the passage, the song would switch and he'd be like, "Ohhh...that's a good one!"

It was awful, and the anxiety in the room was just palpable. It felt like everyone was going to collectively flip out and scream. Thank god we had a great proctor who went downstairs, paid the guy off, and got him to leave. Apparently he had a city permit, so the cops couldn't be called.

I guess street musicians are just one of the hazards of an urban testing center. 🙂

I wish they showed how students actually performed on the MCAT vs. thier Kaplan diagnostic or previous MCAT. Not useless information like desk space and anxiety!
