Kaplan Online Practice Tests

Hi,

I just took Practice Test number 2 for the online Kaplan course. I'm curious as to if my scores are on track for a 20+ AA on the real DAT. I take my DAT in a month and 5 days which seems like plenty of time, but these low Kaplan practice scores are concerning.

Practice test 2 results:
18AA 17TS
17 Bio/19 GC/17 OC/18 RC/18 QR/19 PAT

Kaplan is garbage and inaccurate. I wouldn't freak out, but try to use other materials.

I think you're fine. Kaplan isn't that strong for PAT in my experience (the real exam is much harder).

Okay. The only outside source I've used is Bootcamp angle generator and Youtube videos for PAT strategies.

Whenever I took a Kaplan practice test my scores were always pretty similar to yours. They're not very useful.

Crap, don't bother.
Use the proven resources (chads, destroyer, bootcamp).
Go to the classifieds section and look for deals, but IMO now is NOT the time to look for the best free resources. Go with substance.

Is Kaplan considered bad because of the misrepresentation and difficulty of the tests or because the study resources they provide are not inclusive enough?

Study resources are not inclusive enough. I actually appreciated their online tests. Take a bootcamp test, I think one of them is free. If you get a 18-19 on that you're in good shape for a 20 on the real thing.

Their exams are not meant to be an assessment tool of your readiness for the exam, but more of a marketing tool to purchase their services. I tried it and did not like it.

I got like 16's and 17's on kaplan and 20's on the real DAT

Thanks for the great responses. I'll look into the free Bootcamp test, and I had planned on taking the 35 dollar online ADA one the week of my test.

Don't take it online because you can't review your responses.

Also, I haven't been watching the online kaplan lectures at all. I read the Kaplan review notes book cover to cover, and it seemed to be extremely detailed. Now I am using the flashcards they give you for each section, and they seem to be really solid. I'm branching out to Bootcamp for the PAT questions.
Just my 2 cents on Kaplan at the moment. I'll know more once I take the real test.

I made a 16 on kaplan, freaked out and almost rescheduled... Ended up with a 20. I think they make it harder so you will purchase their services

I highly recommend you start using DAT Destroyer and DAT Bootcamp, I took the kaplan course face to face and it was too broad and limited. I originally planned to only study 2 month for the DAT, I ended up dropping kaplan completely, pushing back my exam a few weeks and focusing on DAT Destroyer.
