hey guys
the topscore pro PAT sample tests are very easy.
i bought kaplan book 2nd edition with cdrom 90% similar to the 3rd edition. the PAT section was little bit harder just in the first 2 sections. for example, question #13 for the keyhole the shape fits in 3 of the 5 shapes, so there are 3 correct answers. in topscore pro for all the keyhole questions only 1 correct shape for every question.

what about the real dat?? are the keyhole questions similar to topscore or the kaplan dat book 2nd or 3rd edition?

Hi issa. If you want good PAT practice, then you should get DAT Achiever. I used Kaplan and it did not prepare me at all for the real DA, which was much harder than Kaplan. DAT Achiever's PAT is closer in complexity level to the real DAT.

I somewhat disagree with lhnguyen. Although DATachiever is a great study tool because it provides very complicated examples of key hole, front/side/end, angles, and hole punching it does not accurately reflect the difficulty of the real DAT.

Maybe it was just my version of the DAT, but the only section that was close to difficulty of DATachiever was angle ranking. And reading through the many posts on this subject I am not the only one who thinks this.

I recommend using DATachiever, first go through the PAT test, then review your answers on your own by taking as much time as you need (note the questions to which you end up finding a better answer) and ONLY THEN check the 3D model and look at the answer key. This way really trains your brain, you will see an improvement by your 3rd exam.

DATachiever prepares you for the worst case scenario of the DAT. For me the real DAT was very straight forward, I only one keyhole problem was a little challenging because the answers did not seem to fit to scale. So I took an educated guess and moved on.

Don't stress too much, you real DAT should go well, especially if you practice and practice well. Don't just do the exam and autopilot through the answers. The more time you spend reviewing the better you will get.
