I am currently training to teach the MCAT.

i've been teaching mcat for a while now. have to say that it's good money and you meet some cool students. kinda weird tho when most of your students are older than u

I have been teaching MCAT for Kaplan for a while. Great experience.

I've been teaching Kaplan MCAT for a while now. Hoping to also teach now and then in med school, but that probably won't be feasible until M4 at the earliest.

Be warned, though, the pay at Kaplan is craptastic. Some of my friends at TPR are making much more than I.

I also teach MCAT for Kaplan. The pay is good and I get paid for my prep time. I've been entertaining the idea of maybe trying to teach in school, but it probably won't happen

Been teaching about a year. I do NOT have the issue of my students being older than me.

I'm toying with the notion of teaching a once-a-week class while in school, but I don't think it's necessarily going to happen either. Shame, really. I'm getting quite good at it.

Werd up to Kaplan!

I teach there and I really enjoy it. There is nothing like the feeling you get when you actually know you are helping someone! (and if you want to read more... purchase a copy of my personal statement at your local Pulitzer Prize bookstore!)

I teach for Kaplan and it is fun as hell. Not to mention easy too!

SWEET! I'm glad to see everyone enjoys teaching at Kaplan. I just did my audition and start training shortly for the MCAT class. I can't wait to rake in the skrilla!

i teach the SAT and the hours are flexible

As a teacher, do you spend a lot of time at the center, or just preparing on your own and teaching in a classroom? I'm starting training soon also. I'm just wondering because on campus I don't have a car and will have to take a bus to the center.

You prep at home, and just teach in the classroom during your class.

For the person who asked about hours, each class is three hours long. Depending on where you live, there will be classes that range from once a week to four times a week. Also depending on where you live, you might only be teaching one set of subjects, or you might teach the whole thing.

Are most of you guys generalists or specialists for the teaching?

thanks xandie! i will probably be a biology/organic specialist... don't know yet though.

Yo -

I'm thinking about auditioning to teach the MCAT. What exactly does the training entail and how long does it take to comlete?
