Kaplan USMLE versus Kaplan NBDE

Hi all,

Can anybody tell me whether Kaplan Usmle lectures or Kaplan NBDE is better for part 1 prep? USMLE looks vast and am running short of time, so in a big dilemma as from which to choose!!

I did the Kaplan 6 month thing.I did the video lectures, had the review text and had to released exams and their QBank.I also bought the dental decks.Vast is a relative word.I guess it depends on how much time you have and how much prep you feel you need.I found my kaplan material very useful.

Study in and out..whatever u want nbde or mle..be thorough with the subject. as u r short of time, so pick one soon and read thoroughly.

when ru writing?? i m trying to run a fast race too..

Kaplan has NBDE videos.I never looked at USMLE material.I did the entire NBDE Pathology material I had and I found that there was a lot of pathology in my exam last year.I guess it depends on how strong you feel your path. is.I wanted to play it safe so--.

Kaplan has NBDE videos.I never looked at USMLE material.I did the entire NBDE Pathology material I had and I found that there was a lot of pathology in my exam last year.I guess it depends on how strong you feel your path. is.I wanted to play it safe so--.

How many times did u go through the video? I hav USMLE video and notes with me. I find patho to be too much of details. Do u remember the length of the video in path (hrs)? just wanted to see wether itz the same.

answer is so simple kaplan usmle is for usmle takers;dont bother yourself with soooooo much details,NBDE only and only asks you the simplest basic questions,the more you fill your brain with details it gets harder to recall basics.
just my 2 cents.

THis is totally my opinion.Do what u think is best for you.
Kaplan Nbde tapes are useless.The guy talks the same thing givenin teh review books(unless kaplan has changed any of the material since April 2008).
Usmle tapes are good but too long.Youre right.its best to refer to their books on the topics u need..They're good too.try and do molecular biology from MLe books.a lot of questions that are asked seem to have answers in the mLe book than nbde notes.

better to read nbde keplan

even if you read nbde kaplan its very difficult to review at last days
its my personal exp

so read nbde and whatever you read do throughly they are asking specific
