No kidding, the kinds of things people were doing to get karma, I can't write about in a civilized forum. It was a misleading system at best.

i think it was more of a game then anything else...it's like growing a plant...it's fun to watch it grow (or die depending on the type of karma)...

Karma was reset, and we're starting over with non-anonymous karma. I think Lee is going to try to prevent karma from being given in the Lounge and Everyone forum too.

YES, definately try to prevent KARMA BEGGING!!! It will be useless again if people BEGS for points - that is just low!

I've never seen any Internet forum effectively implement a reputation system that's worth a damn. Ever. If SDN can eliminate anonymity and begging then this time it just might work, but I'm not holding my breath.

well, it's a defunct system either way, b/c many people give excellent support and info, yet not everyone will applaud them for it.

Essentially, we all know who's a good resource of information and helpful. No need for Karma points to tell us so.
