People generally suggest MD over DO (unless you're 110% set on something that's not competitive). Cost appear to favor KCU, but having applied to both MD and DO, read countless threads arguing both points, spoken to academic MDs in FM... I'd pay 20-40k (over the course of 4 years) for MD if given the option.
It's a nonfactor if you don't get accepted, which is happening if you don't interview.
I'd go to interview if you think you'd possibly attend, see what you see, and balance the financial aid packages if you're accepted at both. Seems strange to close a door before seeing the other side...
