KCUMB interview invites w/o supplemental application?
Started by stoic
Congrats on the invite, Stoic! I've never heard of an interview without a supplemental app. Anyways, good luck on Oct 4. Maybe I'll see you around.
ps. KCUMB tends to accept around 90% of the people they interview. Chances are great that you could be a student here.

From the letter it sent it sounded like the invite w/o secondary was due to a printing problem with the supplementals. They're still sending one, but I just have to finish it before the interview.

Yeah I got the same letter. My interview was Oct 7th but moved it to Oct. 25th. Good luck with the interview. 😀 Let us know how it goes!
I got the same letter and have an interview Sept. 23. Also, I have now received my secondary app to turn in. We are supposed to turn in our secondaries and LOR's before our interview. Since the name change, certain applicants were granted an interview w/o secondary with the caveat of them turning the app in before the interview. Hope to see you guys in KC.

Yes, it came by snail mail, as did the supplemental app.

I've just scheduled the interview for the first interview day-9/21. Anyone else there on that day? PM me if you would...Thanks

I was told that the supplemental needs to be filled out before the interview, as well as the LOR's turned in. Sucks because supplemental is a frigin book! 😡

Handwriting mine, but that is only because I am lazy 😴

I'm pumped. Got an interview invite from KCUMB w/o a supplemental. Anyone else going to be interviewing Oct. 4th?

Good luckWow, I'm glad to know that I am not dreaming and that others are sharing the reality of a pre-secondary interview invite. I've just been so focused on the application process this summer and fall that I have not been reading or posting on the forum.
AACOMAS submitted my app to my schools on 8/10. On 8/30, I received two envelopes from KCUMB. One letter stated that I was scheduled for a personal i/v on 10/20 and contained info for confirming. The other envelope contained the secondary and LOR info booklet. I was instructed in the first letter to have the secondary material submitted b4 the i/v. I read the i/v invite letter at least five times. I simply could not believe that they wanted to see me before receiving my secondary. Total surprise! Also interesting: I have not yet taken the 3 credits of Genetics and did not list it as a planned course on primary app. I will now enroll for the course somewhere, but still trying to find a course which meets the requirement and is not too costly.
Anyway, I am scheduled for 10/20 and I am so excited. Anyone else planning to interview that day? Feel free to email me. It would be nice to have someone to talk with during the tours and wait time.
What with the name change and pre-secondary interview invites, do you think that KCUMB is going to change their admission strategy this year (invite more candidates this year for interviews and accept fewer). From what I've read, the school interviews only 25% of applicants and the acceptance rate among those interviewed has been 75% or better. I like my chances of acceptance under the "old" system. Here's hoping it has not changed for this 2004-05 admission cycle.
Good luck to all in this process. May you find the best school for you and may that school agree with your assessment!!!

i think when i did it, i was hoping for an electronic copy, but since jus paper, i scanned it in, and then typed in the stuff i wanted to say in nice special font not found on typewritters... eh... i had the time, but it didnt really take much more time than if i had spent extra time trying to type nicely on a typewritter or print clearly by hand... and i really wanted to go there....
