Hey all,

I didn't do so well on my first mcat back in september and am scheduled to retake this saturday. I am not making the same mistake of not taking practice exams this time 😛.

Anyway, my primary app was submitted about the second/third week of december and have received multiple secondary requests (I applied to 14 schools).

I know (at least the impression that I received) was that most schools "automatically" send you a secondary app request. Is this true for the most part?

But on to my actual question. It says in the CIB that KCUMB looks at January MCAT only if the file is complete. Maybe I am over analyzing this and making it more difficult than it should be but does this mean that my primary AND secondary must be submitted on or before Feb 1st for my MCAT to be considered? or does this mean I would have to have my primary submitted before Feb 1st, and my secondary before the deadline of March 1st.

I know its rather late in the game but I spent the better part of the holidays doing nothing but mcat review, hence the procrastination of supplemental apps.

Thanks

I am fairly certain you have to have both your primary and secondary applications submitted before you are considered "complete".

Thanks, but what I'm most concerned about is when my application needs to be complete (primary and secondary) before primary deadline which is feb 1st, or secondary deadline, which is march 1st. Regardless, I will churn out the secondaries by next week, unless I have to submit the kcumb secondary before next week for my new mcat to be considered.

Usually complete mean primary, secondary and all LORs... but when in doubt, call the school directly and ask someone in admissions

A secondary can't take that long to do (if it does you might have a rough interview). Take a break from mcat tomorrow afternoon, stop procrastinating and get the darn thing done. Heck, you wasted how many minutes on sdn?

I know what your question is and I responded to your question.

You need to have everything done by February 1st (as you posted in your question).

well I just called their admissions and was told that they fill the class up late march early april. the admissions rep also told me that since their admissions are on a rolling basis that I've still got a little bit of time. It's sort of a double edged sword, the later I turn it in (I know its already really late) the smaller my chances become, but at the same time I won't have to worry about breaking my mcat stride.
in either case, the mcat score im sitting on wont get me an interview anyway so a couple of days wont hurt that much more right?
