Hi all,

As part of my informal post-bacc, I retook a Physics course but later decided to put it as an incomplete until I had enough time to study for the exams. Well, I took the exams this summer and I'm pretty sure that I won't be getting an A in the course (possibly a C). The problem is my professor has yet to change the "I" to a grade.

I've been wanting to know my grade, but have been contemplating keeping the course as an incomplete even though I technically did complete it. My physics professor is very forgetful and loses most assignments...I'm kinda guessing that's what happened to my exams. I don't want to ask him because I don't want to bomb my improving GPA (was a 2.75, now a 2.95 w/o Physics, I know, a LONG way to go).

How bad does an incomplete look on my transcript and what will professional schools think of it? Especially that its a repeat. 🙁

Thanks!

Do NOT worry about an "Inc"; worry about F/D/C grades, and do something about them.

Oh, absolutely. Most of my courses are C grades that I plan on retaking, albeit a little later down the road due to my current situation posted in other thread.
This Physics course was only the 4th class that I retook and I'm afraid that it will mess everything up. I just wanted to know if I should remind my professor to post the grade or not, and if I don't, how that would harm me down the road.

But thanks for replying, I definitely agree with you.

I know at the cc I attended that if your incomplete didn't change to a grade after a certain time frame it automatically became an F. Make sure you check the college catalog if you haven't done so to be sure they don't do that.

🙂

I have to agree with Jemill. concerning incompletes. At my school, if a course isn't completed within an allotted time frame, that INC would automatically be turned to an F. My advice, check your school's grade policy concerning INCs. It may just be better to get the grade than to let it be turned into an automatic F, especially considering that you've completed all of the work.

I just emailed him asking for my grade. I checked my university policy regarding incompletes and it states that it will change the INC to an F within 2 semesters! Weird thing though, 2 semesters passed already and no F.... ? Not complaining! But weird.... Thanks to those who replied!
