Keyhole question on a front view

Can someone explain the front view for me? Why is the 2nd extension in the front view so short? It appears to be jutting out further than that.

For KH, it is very important to compare the relative length . You can compare the three length so you will get why the 2nd extension in the front view short.

I understand the length but the height is tripping me up. The part jutting up in the picture looks much taller than the correct front in view.
