Oh, I'd love to be wolfing with Nate right now, but alas. I'm actually not sure we've ever wolfed together? And I have a slight town read on him, but IDK that I've seen him drunk post, so that could be lulling me into a false sense of security.

I was the first to point out Dina/Pippy stuff. If it was something easy, wouldn't more point it out? Wouldn't people investigate it? Pippy has been pushed, but very little have been in combination with Dina. My post was not a push either, more a comment and then I moved on. Maybe I am misunderstanding "easy". When you say "too easy", do you mean it was an easy post to make or was it an easy conclusion to make?

It is fine not being hot on the wolf hunting train. I find it hard too rn because this is my first game here, so I am observing whenever I have an "easy" 🙂p) gut town read. Snap reading people as town is very beneficial imo

Thanks. It's difficult for me to take this to heart, because it is extremely generous to mayo. However, I will acknowledge that to this point he has made no effort to reach the posting minimum, and that might be important.

I disagree tbh. I don't feel like he "tried very hard" (idk how you want to define that, highposting?? Fighting back?) in mountains and he was a wolf there

Dubz: she feels... Eh? Idk, a lot less jokey and more distant than I'm used to. Like she's emphasizing the sheeping you thing and is giving the appearance of solving but it's moreso noise and not in the way I'm used to (no offense intended, there's a distinction).
Samac: still not feeling the exact je ne c'est quois but I do think overall she's village.
JJJ: village, and the one I'm most confident on from this list. I think there's a conspicuous distinction if you compare his mafia vs town games that I reviewed for endgame last game. It's subtle but he's a lot more... White noise. Here he's actually trying to solve, not just talking a lot but saying nothing.
Pippy: still get more frustrated village vibes from her. Again I concede I haven't played much with her and I don't even remember her in Literary at all, but idk how to describe it. Just the rolling over and begrudging given in to the yeet doesn't seem like someone who has two packmates relying on her :shrug:

@Zenge142 How are you currently feeling about both Dubz and samac? I saw you say you're not blind to a wolf!samac world. Can you elaborate on them both?

If Pippy flipped wolf, would you feel better or worse about Samac?

I want to enjoy the game and pushing there is going to take that away.
Blah blah champs try your best but I’m just going to let others resolve that slot and leave it alone because I don’t have the mental capacity to start that fight. I think this is likely going to be my approach to people I’m consistently antagonist with going forward without very good reason not to.

Ok I’m going to be entirely honest here, I don’t feel great about pippy and her tone feels more annoyed caught wolf pippy than misyeeted villager pippy, but I’ve felt like leaving it alone and letting others resolve the slot because I know I’ve driven her bonkers before and I don’t want to suck the fun out of game for either her or I because I know we can easily get under each other’s skin.

Neither? Pippy is probably one of my longest-running town leans, but maybe not my strongest (I'd have to think about this). Nate is my friend from another site that invited me over here, and I'd like to give him a chance to live. Mayo is null, maybe scummy.

Mostly, I didn't realize the votes had shifted so dramatically onto Nate, and I didn't like it.

Some thoughts about this information:

~ If anyone is interested in comparing this to another exercise of its kind, refer to Time to Get a WWatch -- two mafia participated (Animal Midwife and santygrass). That one went belly-up, because both of those mafia were universally town read within the exercise. To be clear: it normally doesn't work that way, and I have probably done this 25-30 times. That was an outlier, but it is possible.

~ To get a gauge of reads similarity, here's how much each player differs from each other player, not including reads on one another, see below. The colors are meaningless other than to separate levels.

WildZoo <--> JJJ (2 differences)
samac <--> genny (4 differences)
samac <--> DrWilgy (4 differences)**

One asterisk means that one player in the pair reads the other as mafia. Two asterisks mean they read each other as mafia.

I'm not actually sure what the above information means, as I have only looked this closely on a few occasions. It might be interesting to review after the game at least, in case trends emerge for next time. This was difficult to count, and there's a good chance I goofed something somewhere. I present this all anyway, because it is possible that someone else gleans something interesting from it, or that it inspires a productive dialogue.

~ genny registers as the most "trusting" player in the exercise. In the past this was something I viewed as concerning, because an early trend with this exercise showed mafia town reading the most people (or close to the most). However that trend has kind of become null in more recent memory. So I won't take that anywhere. I will however ask you, @genny, how you feel about the game right now given these reads? I wouldn't have pegged you as the person most likely to have the most town reads, and it'd be super to get a better understanding of your general view of things and your confidence level about where you ended up in this exercise.

~ DrWilgy registers as the most "paranoid", which is reasonably on-brand for what I expect of him given our past experience playing together. His reads deviate from the consensus pretty frequently (you can see his name concentrated mostly toward the bottom of the list in the spoiler). I think that if we pair this with the fact that he was a consensus town read (4-1), that's a little bit reassuring. He clearly hasn't earned his keep by blending into any broader consensus -- he is solving his own way and has seemed authentic in the process.

~ samac broke from consensus twice: DrWilgy and Zenge (she was the only to read either of them as mafia). That doesn't have to be a problem, but it is noteworthy. She's spoken about the Zenge read already, and I won't continue to pester on that front. The Wilgy read interests me though, because the two of them were somewhat similar in their views (granting that 4 different reads is still a decent number). @samac, if you haven't already I'd appreciate hearing more about your feelings regarding DrWilgy.

~ @Boquise, your read of me follows in that spirit (viewing me as mafia despite strong alignment in our reads). I acknowledge you'd said before that you'd prefer to wait on dealing with me until the time comes to yeet me into the sun etc, and that the exercise demands a stance -- nonetheless I'd appreciate if you could try to describe how you ended up there.

~ Most important general notes about the process here: this thing isn't meant to find the most consensus suspect and turbo-chop them, and nor is it meant to define permanence in any reads or restrict teamwork. Just because the six people that participated in this exercise agree mostly or entirely on whatever doesn't mean everyone else would agree. Likewise, any suspicion derived from this exercise about the people that took part in it should be considered with avoidance of the base-rate neglect fallacy. However likely someone may appear to be mafia emerging from this thing, that doesn't account for the number of mafia that participated in it (which could be zero, or it could be three, or it could be anything in between). Be mindful.

I might have more to say as I continue to chew on this stuff. This post is already too big though, so let's just get on with it. Here, have a wall.
