I gave my 7 week old kittens drontal for tapeworms 3 days ago and I still notice the occasional segment on their rectum. I've never seen the worms in the actual poop, just when I lift up their little tails to investigate. I never noticed fleas but they got Frontline over a week ago so I'm pretty sure that won't be a problem.

For how much longer should I expect to see the worms, are they still alive, and can the kittens get re-infected this way?

You can expect to see the tapeworm segments for up to 7 days. Animals get tapeworms by eating fleas, so it would be a good idea to get your house sprayed by a pest control service. Just because you don't see any fleas does not mean that they aren't there. Be sure to keep the frontline on them at all times. That will help eliminate the flea problem and cut down on the tape worms.

sometimes droncit needs to be repeated in two weeks. The area around the anus is typically where you would visualize tapeworm segments.
