what surprised me the most from this article was the fact that he kept mentioning the process of being weeded out.

As he says there,

unfortunately, the "weed out" process does not end in college. Students who cannot make the grade can and will be kicked out of dental school. In my freshman class, we started with 101 students. By the end of the first year, there were only 78.

and

the "weed out" process is not finished yet. Even after some dental students get to the second year, a few still cannot make it into the third year. We lost an additional seven students my sophomore year.

So I went to dig up his resume and realized he went to University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey...

I hope this is not the norm. At least, I heard from my school the graduation rate was like almost 100%...

i have to say that was a pretty amazing article. a must read for all pre-dents. i have a much better understanding of what im getting into now
