I got it today as well...I got in over a month ago...but who knows it seems pretty stupid to send something about fees out to a applicant who they denied...but I don't want to be the dick that gives you false hope just reporting my experience.

I would call or email the school and check your status. I agree it seems weird they would worry about fees if you were denied. Who know maybe you were accepted and never got the letter? Crazier things have happened.

Good Luck.

they send that to everyone... i got one just clarifying that I qualify as an in-state resident and I have not been accepted yet... and the ID number is just to keep track of who you are it is arbitrary (except in my case that it is my student ID number at KU now since I am in a master's program there)... don't read too much into this letter

I am assuming that out of staters do not need to respond to this letter correct?

well, I didn't get that letter and I've been on hold status there since December...maybe I'm going to be rejected soon!!! Hopefully not, but I didn't get that or any ID number...and the deadline for their decisions is March 15th....so it doesn't look good for me.

Odd, I didn't receive that letter and I was accepted in November.

I'm an out-of-stater but I qualify for in-state tuition thanks to some residency clause that stipulates you're still considered a resident for fee purposes if you graduated from a KS high school.

lol which highschool did you graduate from in kansas? im a grad of KMC

I think until I get a decision letter I am going to wonder what this letter ultimately means since some have gotten it and others haven't. It does say to look into that in state out of state stuff, "if you are admissted to the university..

Ohh the anticipation is killer.....

Called registrar. They send letter out to all med school applicants.. So technically it doesn't mean anything if you have a KU ID number.

Just called and asked we should know by St. Patrick's Day! No new information, just thought I'd share

Anyone hear today? I hate waiting!!!! It's driving me crazy. 😱

If you haven't heard by now, you are nearly guaranteed to be waitlisted.

The School of Medicine scholarship deadline is Wednesday (15th). Not that there is necessarily a complete correlation between the two dates, but why set a target date for acceptances that is just a few days after that important deadline?

dude, ku-med always is doing stuff like this. the year i got in, the basement flooded and most of our admissions stuff was washed away...........

Not really. The fact that their deadline is after they accept a good portion of the class is kind of silly, but still true. A good portion of applicants receiving letters this month will get in. Some will get waitlisted. About 100 will get neither.

Heh... I'll one up you...

When the standard deposit paperwork finally arrived a few weeks ago, it contained a form congratulatory letter stating that the deans couldn't wait to greet me in August along with other members of the Class of 2009!?

sweet! i must have missed the memo that they shortened med school to only 3 years. must be that fabulous new curriculum. congrats on your acceptance 👍

Said MS2 friend recently confirmed that the class is full, but if you want to keep insisting that "80% of the class will be be admitted in mid-March," go for it.[/QUOTE]

Hey, who's this M2 friend? I'm an M2 too, and have heard nothing about the class being full. It's not really something that is sent out in a mass e-mail.

LOL, thanks. Speaking of that fabulous new curriculum, any burning opinions you would care to share?

Apparently some members of the adcom are not exactly tight lipped.—.you just have to ask. "Full" as in if everyone currently holding acceptances decided to matriculate, it would be full, but that's hardly uncommon at this stage in the cycle.

I think next year is definitely going to be interesting. It's good in theory, but lets see if they've got it all figured out. My class got to experiment with the computer testing center, which was quite the adventure.

I am currently doing a masters program at KUMed, and I applied for med school in the fall... the head of my masters program is on the admissions committee and heard that our letters should go out on the 15th... and yes I also heard that they took a ton of people early decision this year, but they also still will accept a large number this week. Good luck to all of you!

Are you a MPH student? I'll be starting mine this summer.

Thank you for the hope!

Sigh of relief ( somewhat) 🙂
