Hello,

I was wondering if it was okay if my lab professor for anatomy writes a LOE for me. Do schools look down upon this? I hope not :xf:

Thanks guys

Is he a full professor, with a Ph.D.? If he's a grad student, then I don't think they would accept it, as most schools ask for letters written by full professors.

I did it. I think as long as they have a title (Dr.) or something it should be fine--but I'm not 100% sure. I had my lab professor write one of my science LOR (the others were actual professors of the course)--it was a different aspect of who I am. He got to know me well b/c we have really small lab courses. If you think it will be a better rec. go for it.

Maybe call the school to make sure I am not giving you bad advice!

My lab professor is writing a LOR for me. She's a Ph. D and a professor (though I've never technically taken a class from her), and she knows my character, work ethic, and academic achievements better than any random upper-level prof I would otherwise ask for a recommendation letter.
