Just out of curiosity... what schools do students do their own lab work? I've heard different opinions on this, and I personally like the idea. It seems to me that by learning how to do your own lab work, you learn to appreciate the good work sent back to you by labs in the real world, and you also learn what doesn't look good. I was just wondering if this is rare among schools or do a lot of schools incorporate lab work into the curriculum? What does everyone think?

NYU makes you do your own lab work, Case does not, and Columbia makes you do it at least once. I personally rather not have to do it (or do it a minimal amounts of times) since ive heard from students that lab work takes up every bit of spare time.
