I was looking through different schools' pre-reqs and I was confused. Some say things like "General Chemistry w/ Lab" and some say "General Chemistry w/ Lab (2 semesters)".

Im confused as to how many semesters of Chem, O Chem, and Bio I should take.

When you have Chemistry - it will always have some form of a lab. You must have at least 8 Hours of Gen Chem and 8 Hours of Organic Chem. Each lecture class is worth 3 hours - so Gen Chem 1, And Gem chem 2 will give you 6 hours total. Now the labs - some schools include a 1 hour lab with each lecture class - giving you gen chem w/ lab for 4 hours. Some schools offer the labs as a completely different class worth 1 credit for 2 labs - or a single 2 credit hour lab.

No matter what school you go to - you need at least 8 credit hours of Gen Chem and Organic Chem. After that, it varies by the institution you are applying too.

Does that clear it up?

Each school uses its own terminology, 1 year, 2 semesters/quarters, x # semester/quarter hours. In most cases you'll need at least 2 semesters or 3 quarters (sometimes only two quarters) of Gchem, OChem, and General Bio to meet their requirements.

For my school, we'll have to do 2 sem of gen. chem., 2 sem of bio., 2 sem of org. chem, and we also have to do 2 essential of org. lab classes (or something like that) which is 1 hr each

andn also 2 sem of physics
