Lack of concentration

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My biggest motivator was to think of the consequences if I didn't study. If you don't study, it'll be harder to get into medical school. When I found myself watching too much TV I'd ask myself whether I'd rather watch ER or actually BE a doctor. The answer was obvious and I usually got right back to work.

Be a gunner or see if you can get yourself put on academic probation

In reply to the original post, there have books written on the art of concentration.

I think the most helpful advice was a quote from Arnold Palmer:

"concentration is a combination fo self-confidence and hunger"

I can't concentrate on anything anymore, and I'm only taking 12 credits! Senioritis = great.

This is a common syndrome among those who are about to graduate and is exacerbated by knowing you have already been accepted somewhere. Don't worry, it goes away when you start something new like medical school.

i started working on a paper a few minutes ago that ive been putting off for a few days... now im watching south park

Yeah, after getting accepted...any desire to study has left me. I am only taking 13 hours this semester. Definite senioritis....😀

I've been accepted. It's my last semester. I feel the same way. I lack anything that might be mistaken for motivation. Undergrad is pointless at this point. I'm taking a bunch of gen ed freshman crap because I neglected it in my first three years. I can't wait for it to be over along with my social life when I get to med school. Fall is too far away and I want out!

unless you bomb and have the school rescind the acceptance...that might be motivation enough.

I like that 😉 thanks

So I am not the only one hnh... I am applying this year, quite probably end up getting in at least somewhere. I have no motivation to do well this semester. I mean its one semester in school b4 med school starts. I don't think its wrong to take it easy for once- however I am careful not to make too many low grades. Just kicked my butt studying for that quantum mechanics exam. Anyway, good to know some of you guys feel the same.

This is why people should take time off. To cleanse the mind and prepare it for its lifetime of continuous use!

Is anyone finding really hard to concentrate on school? I'm in my final semester of college, but am really lacking motivation at this point.😳

Any remedies?

I know exactly what you are talking about. I had one of those situations last semester. Try to sleep a lot, and focus on time management and organizational skills to get you through. Hopefully you will be rested in the end, and ready to have your arse kicked in medical school. 😀

i'm taking 21 hrs just to graduate and this is turning out to be my hardest semester. i just hope getting a couple c's wont hurt me...:scared:
