laptops at SCO

For students currently at SCO, i was just wondering whether you needed to purchase a certain type of laptop when you entered SCO? Did they make you buy a laptop from them or anything like that? A friend of mine in medical school had to buy a specific one that had some type of program or something like that. I am going to buy a laptop this week and wanted to make sure I didn't have to buy another one next year just because it wasn't a certain kind. Thanks!

During my tour I asked a student about it and he said that as long as your computer has the minimum requirements you'll be fine. But I'm not sure where you can find these requirements.
