Tomorrow is my last day at the three-letter chain. It’s been a little over 2 years, most of it good (in hindsight), but for the past 2 months, at a problem store, painful. I’d say I’d miss it, but... nope. Some of the coworkers, sure, but none of the higher-ups, nor the shi**y computer system, wasted paper, and DEFINITELY not the obnoxious CVS music/ad jingles that torture my ears. Here’s to new beginnings! :soexcited:

Where are you going? New start to a new year.

Sorry, I meant Walmart. Forgot that Walgreens looks the same.
Enjoy your mandatory 30 min lunch break at BIG BLUE. Glad you were able to get out of the RED DEVIL alive. I have submitted freedom of information act requests to try to get the suicide rate of pharmacists working at the RED DEVIL to compare it to pharmacist suicide rates working at comparable companies to see if there is a statistical difference.

CVS doesn't track that metric.

Weren't there a bunch of posts recently saying Walmart Pharmacy is going downhill...and fast?

Are taking a PIC position or staff at WM? If staff, how many hours?

Oh okay that's an upgrade then. No drivethru, no annoying robo voice, better hours, bathroom inside the pharmacy. Congrats!

Staff, 40 hours (confirmed with current staff)

So 80 hours bi-weekly? You must be luckily because where I live 80 or even 72 hr staff positions no longer exist!

Edit did you confirm with the currrebt staff rph or your DM? Make sure it’s DM

Pharmacists tend to get 72 or 80 hour positions in California (if there are even openings) due to 1.5x OT and mandatory rest and meal periods (15 min for every 4 hours worked and minimum 30 minute rest period). Even low-script volume locations (like 1k/week sold) have 2 RPH. The lunch period is typically 1 hour and the pharmacy is not allowed to stay open without a pharmacist unlike CVS

Also I suspect the mandatory counseling burden is higher at WM due to the terrible counseling algorithm "necessitating" 2 RPH

At first, it was the market coordinator (Not sure if that’s Walmart-speak for dm) who said 40 hours, But just to be safe, a few weeks later, I called up the actual store, and spoke to someone there, they also said that everyone is getting at least 40, due to short staffing.

Walmart and Costco are still the better retail to go to.

How many PTO you get? Most people don't wanna jump because some HR/DL won't match accumulated vacation from your old job. I know my DL will give you 0 and hire people as if you are a new grad.

This is California only for "salaried-equivalent" pharmacists (those who have guaranteed base hours and are coded as such)

0-1 years: 168 hrs
2: 184
3-5: 208
6-9: 248
10-14: 272
15+: 288

PTO can roll over from the previous year (48 hours max). Unused PTO is not cashed out at the end of the year (this is for pharmacists and other "salaried-equivalent" positions, not techs).

There is no holiday pay so you choose whether to apply PTO to weeks with holidays where the pharmacy isn't open or has limited hours.

Also you don't need to have worked 2 full years to get the accumulation rate for 184 hours for 2080 hours worked. As long as your second year starts in the "plan year" (starting Feb 1 to the following Jan 31) you will accumulate PTO based on the max for 2 years of work. This applies to the other bands as well.

(This part is an "educated" inference based on the PTO guide) At the beginning of the plan year (Feb 1) you start with at least 80 hours of PTO (if you didn't have any PTO by the end of the plan year) so you can start using PTO in Feb and Mar (your PTO will still be capped as above). I believe for new hires amount of PTO you get to start off with is prorated as roughly 80*(1 - X/365) where X is the amount of days that have elapsed in the plan year

That's 4 weeks to start? As good as you can get.

168hr - 6 days holiday (48) - 6 sick days (48h) = 72h "vacation" from 0-1 yr. I guess it's way better than other retailers.

Most will only give you 40h vaca for year 1, 80h after 2 yrs, and 120h after 5 yrs.
