Last day schools are interviewing

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Your right. I misinterpreted someones post. 2/15 is the last day anyone would get an invite from harvard. I'll still leave it in the other place. Anyone else can change that if they want.

Thanks, E'01.
Dartmouth, anyone?

FYI Jason in the admissions office at Harvard told me today that the last day for invites will be this Friday...

If you want to know when X school stops interviewing, pick up the phone. Don't post here listing the schools that your interested in and asking if anybody knows anything.

But it's so much easier to bother everyone here than it is to hassle the admissions office people. 😛

But to keep the peace, I'll cease and desist.

My thinking is to avoid picking up the phone. Why re-invent the wheel? The poor folks in admissions offices are probably working like dogs and if we have information to share, that avoids adding to their stress, isn't that the considerate thing to do? If no-one knows, and people really need the information, then the next step is to call. Hopefully, that information will be shared with other SDNers. Did I miss the point of the thread?

Correcting Yale--I got an interview and was given March 8 as their last day. There is still hope there.

Also correcting Harvard (although it's almost a moot point)--this Friday is their last day for invitations (Jason Graff emailed me this information).

Let's keep hope alive for all SDNers!

I'm actually for putting them in the done interviewing pile when they stop offering. Maybe we should put it to a vote?

As to the not calling the admissions people, it's one thing just to call for your own information, but it another thing to call and then post it on here for everyone. I just don't like the post asking for specific information about schools. If people are reading this post and have that specific information, they probably would have put it up already. This post should give you added incentive to call being that you would be helping more than just yourself.

I agree with SMW. What happens if people cancel interviews? Don't they often call people last minute to fill their interview spots? Especially at a place like GW with blind interviews....it wouldn't make any difference to the interviewer.

As a top school, they'll take a lot of people from out of state, and not very many people can just go out there on a moment's notice.

I'm going to side with Jalbrekt. Most people are concerned with when they get their invitations, not the dates that the interviews are scheduled for...

the other day someone got an interview from GW for 2/22...that kinda stuff is what I mean...pretty short notice, whereas my GW interview notice was a month and a half in advance. I would say there is still a possibility of them offering more interviews, but I can't know for sure. 😕

••••Since when is GW considered a "top" school? Come on now, Brandonite! 😀 Btw - I agree we should be paying more attention to when invites stop rather then when actual interviewing stops.

People are always talking about it, so I just assumed it must be decent. I now see it's not in the top 50, but still, there must be some kind of draw there... Maybe I should've said it was private??

Anyway, I still know absolutely nothing about the school, so I'll be quiet for now. 😀

Regarding Tulane: I just called - they are interviewing through the end of March, but are already more or less booked up for the entire month, so they might not even send out any more invites (I just spoke to admissions)

this process is so frustrating and demoralizing. I just spoke to wash u as well - they've had my application completed for 4 months and I have yet to hear anything (other than those promos they sent me several times asking me to apply!!). The schools do not show applicants a lot of respect, that's for sure.

I just called Jefferson and they only interview on Wednesdays, the last one being April 10.

Apparently the committee hasn't "decided" on my application yet. Hmmmm...jargon for "we haven't put the postage on your rejection letter yet" or they really haven't decided? I guess only time will tell. Damn patience!
