What are some last minute checking procedures that should be done before officially submitting your primary application?
What should one look for before finally submitting?

print it out and read it for errors!

and then after that hurry up and submit . . . it's already more than halfway through july!! 😀

When should one be concerned with lateness? I ask because AMCAS is still processing my application.

it only matters when you sent it in, not when they finish verifying

yeah print out and read the whole thing over.

With everyone starting to talk about receiving secondary notices I am becoming concerned.

it seems that the later you submit, the longer it takes to verify. so if yours is being processed you're alright. it would just suck to still have not submitted at this point. verification is taking 3+ weeks now.

What happens if you realize you made a mistake after you submit it?
Any way to fix it?
What's my best bet?

you can't fix it. It's finished, you can't go back, so you should do it right the first time.

no exceptions?
amcas wont do anything?
what's my best bet if it's a major error?

You can't change it no matter how gigantic the error. So whatever you do, don't look at it after you submit! I'm not exaggerating when I say that a bazillion threads pop up every cycle by people who looked at their application after they submitted and now they're freaking out.

I re-read my app online.

Then I re-read it again (paper copy).

Then I re-read the AMCAS instruction manual.

Then I re-read it again (online).

Then I quadruple-checked my course work list because it seems like that's the source of most of the verification errors/delays (online and paper copy).

Then I changed one word in the essay (paper --> online).

Then I re-read it 3 more times (online and paper).

It was painful by the last few times but, I was so damn paranoid about it. I'm glad I did it though...now I can rest easy knowing I did everything I could.

Same thing here. I can look at my AMCAS without fear because I KNOW there aren't any error there whatsoever.

i understand that, but you cant change the past
is it wise to contact every school that you applied to and tell them of this error?
because i dont want to come off as being a liar...
what do people usually do in this case when they find out that they made a major error? what's the best bet?
thanks

What's the error? Did you accidently tell them you were the king of Spain?
