planning on applying this cycle (early june).

I can't and don't want to submit my transcript for my last quarter (since grades won't come out until late june anyway).

hypothetically, will i be required to send update transcripts, either during the school year or before matriculation? i have a feeling my grades might slip a little (say A's to B's or something like that) because i saved all my most challenging classes for last.

is this going to bite me in the butt? (assuming the best possible scenario where i wouldnt need to reapply to schools)... thanks.

Yes, your school will want your final transcripts before matriculation.

Unless you outright fail multiple courses then you should be fine, it typically takes quite a bit for an acceptance to be revoked.

If your talking about not including your spring grades from your junior year in order to inflate your GPA, this sounds a bit shady to me. By the time interview roll around I wouldn't be shocked if some schools request this info.

I thought you have to list all your courses in AMCAS (courses that you've taken and/or currently enrolled in). So yes, you would have to send those transcripts in.

However, I don't know if you have to have your last quarter's transcript in before AMCAS can verify your grades.

If you don't want those grades to show up, send the transcript to AMCAS before the grades are posted to your transcript. Since they won't be released until June, you can send the transcript in May so that it won't hold up your AMCAS (which I HIGHLY recommend anyway). Then before you matriculate you will have to submit a final transcript. Just don't fail any classes and you should be fine.

thanks everyone, especially guile.

i'm graduating after this quarter and will be working during my gap year. i wasnt trying to inflate my GPA or anything (it's been very consistent anyway)-- it's just that im taking two labs this quarter so im afraid my grades might slip a little even though i'm putting in the same effort. thanks!
