Does sending the academic update late (like end of January) look bad? Will it delay an acceptance if the next wave of acceptances are released January 1st? Do we even have to submit one if we don't want to?

Also, what happens if someone misunderstands and doesn't include the transcript from this semester in their academic update but rather the one they sent for only has grades from summer classes on top of the original grades sent in normally through AADSAS? This could happen if they want to submit it earlier than their fall semester ends so fall grades wouldn't come out yet so only the summer grades show up.

There are a few schools that will send transcripts on Jan. 5th. So by the time AADSAS gets it and verifies your grades, it will be late January. You can (YOU SHOULD) send your schools your unofficial transcripts.
