i changed my mind after the summer and took longer than i should have to finish my application. I have a 3.74 GPA (~3.5 science GPA) am a chemistry major with lots of bio background, three years of research experience, and a good deal of EC but only about 30 hours of shadowing and a DAT of:
Bio:23
Gen Chem:29
O Chem:19
TS:22
AA:21
PAT:18
QR:16
RC:18

What are my chances at getting an interview to louisville at this point? I also have an interview (last round) FEB 8 at Tennessee which is my in state. Are my chances good of being accepted to either?

your stats are good, but how late are we talking about? Like Dec submition?

both submissions were within 4 weeks of final deadline. i just wish i had known sooner...

I'd say your chances might increase BIG TIME if you're a kentucky resident. I know a guy that had an interview like in jan or feb, and he made it in pretty much after the interview. But this is at least 2-3 years ago.. Good luck to you!

i hate to be negative, but submitions that late are usually going to end up with the applicant having to reapply. I dont know how full those schools are, but it might be safe to bet they are close to full by now. Maybe you have a shot since you have high GPA/DAT, be optimistic, but at the same time i would consider gearing up for the 2009 cycle. With the ever increasing number of applicants, the early bird gets the worm 🙂

WAY too late for this year. don't waste your $ on apps and stuff. Plus, you might want to retake the DAT. You chem score is through the roof but you have a score of 16 in there. Because of the increase in apps every year, schools have systems to "thin the herd" and they use min scores on DAT and GPa to do that.

Retake your DAT and submit your app next year on JUNE 1st and you will have a great chance to get into your school of choice.

This year?....forget it.

Really late for the cycle as many have already stated. The 16 could be a issue depending on which schools you have applied b/c some have cutoffs. Do your homework on which schools to apply and APPLY EARLY next year. Good luck!!

a DAT retake? for a 16 in QR. I would just say apply to schools with no cut off, or look at predents and see what schools took people with low QR. But that is just my opinion

I know the mind works in different ways...

But
Bio:23
Gen Chem:29
O Chem:19
TS:22
AA:21
PAT:18
QR:16
RC:18

How did you manage to get a 29 on one section and then 16/18 on RC and QR? Did you not study for those sections?

Chances are for the weak. If there's a spot open in the class and you have an interview there, then you can get in. There's an entire 8 spots left, and you only need 1 of those. You also have an AA far superior than that of their avg, so go get that spot!
