I just recently decided I wanted to become a dentist. I have not taken the DAT or even studied for it at this point. When is the latest I could take the DAT and still apply for 2016 cycle? Also, could I apply earlier and take the DAT later, like September? I have a 3.98 gpa and was an all-conference college baseball player. Does being a college athlete help? As of now, I have about 36 shadowing hours. Also, I live in Texas if that matters. Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help.

different schools had different dates I've seen some of their websites that say as late as 11/1/2015, although i wouldn't recommend taking it that late

I read read the application deadline is October 1st. Does that mean I can take the DAT in late September and still apply or do the official scores have to be in before I apply?

I'm assuming you're talking about one specific school? Not all schools deadlines are oct 1 some are dec some are feb etc. But I believe as long as the scores are uploaded to aadsas before the deadline for that school you should be fine. So yah September is good just try to aim for early sept

All of the Texas schools have a deadline of October 1st. All I really want to know I guess if I can take the DAT at the end of September and still apply before receiving official scores?

yeah I'm 99% sure you can do this. maybe call one of the texas schools to double check though but it seems like it should be fine
