Late application?

I will be submitting my application this week for ophtho residency. Does anyone know if I am too late or how much my app will be harmed by this? I know that most of the deadlines have not passed, but I am under the impression that most people submitted long ago. Anyone have any ideas on this? thanks!

certainly the earlier the better so you dont miss deadlines....but i guess really there is no reason to worry about that now...all you can do is submit it and hope for the best

I sent my application in October 2, and it wasn't distributed until October 9. My final letter didn't arrive until Oct 9, and was just distributed today. So my file is complete as of Oct 16. I think I might have the latest application of record?
I know my chances of matching are slim, but I have 5 interviews at this point and am hoping to beat the odds.

Carnito..i was just wondering how could you get interview invites if your final letter was just distributed today??? I thought SF match service wait until your full application is complete and then distribute your full file?
Do you mind sharing where you got your interviews...it sure is very impressive 🙂 Maybe if you can share your interview offers on our main interview board 🙂

I thought my application was complete, but I just confirmed w/SF match this afternoon that my last letter was only distributed today (I'd put a letter in its place when I applied stating that it was going to be coming later).

I'm trying to be hopeful. I sent emails to places I was interested in stating that my application would be arriving past deadline, and got surprisingly positive responses. I decided on ophtho late, and am ok with the fact that I could very well be applying again next year. 🙁
