I got all my secondaries 2.5 weeks ago and am still working on them. I just submitted 8/30 so far.
I may end up taking a couple more weeks to finish everything. How bad is late august submission really? should I be worried? did I miss out on many schools?

In the same boat as you, we cannot turn back the clock; all we can do now is crank them out.

But, we probably have lost out on 10-15% of the interview slots.

I like this LizzyM response in reference to mid-August.
At this point in the cycle, most schools, I would estimate, have queued for interview fewer than 10% of those who will get interview invitations. So, if a school is going to interview 500 out of a pool of 6,000 to make 200 offers to fill 100 seats, and they've already selected 50 of those who will be interviewed , you are competing with 5,949 others for one of 450 interview slots left. How bad is that compared with competing with 5,999 others for one of 500 interview invites?

You're still fine. Now get off of sdn and start writing and filling out those secondaries!! And have multiple eyeballs vet your writing while you're at it

I submitted 15/35 secondaries before labor day. I am waiting on my paycheck this week to submit the rest. I get paid every other week unfortunately.

I have a 520+ and 3.8+ but my advisor has been telling me that its too late at this point, and I am better off saving my money for a reapplication? What should I do?

Most of the schools left are T20s, and I have two IIs so far. I received most secondaries >1 month ago.

here are the schools left:
Yale
Harvard
Johns Hopkins
Columbia University
Duke University
UPenn (Perelman)
Stanford University
WashU St. Louis
University of Michigan
UCLA
University of Pittsburgh
Weill Cornell Medicine
Icahn at Mount Sinai
UChicago (Pritzker)
Case Western Reserve
University of Rochester
Boston University
Albert Einstein
Hofstra
USF (Morsani)

Two interviews are great. I suggest focusing on the interviews you have at this point. Prioritize the remaining secondaries you want to submit to, but rest assured, the "popular" schools already have plenty of attention/applications. Choose wisely with your mission fit.

I merged this with your thread from August asking the same question.
Turn off your tv and go write the essays to prevent yourself from having to save money for another app cycle

Lock in man. You’re almost there. Two IIs at T20s are crazy. Kill em and your problems are solved

Updating above for contemporary times. Come back here when you are done. You got this.

You may want to check and see which of your schools have stated deadlines for submitting secondaries.

I know at UCLA, for example, you've got 15 days (down to the hour). Once that time elapses, the secondary portal will lock up on you, and they're pretty insistent about keeping the doors locked once they've closed.

Firm deadlines at places like Stanford and UMich are coming up in early October... but those are just some I know off the top of my head. Keep a spreadsheet and get through them accordingly. It's easy to lose track of what you've done after a while.
