Late DAT exam....still hope for this cycle?

i know people say even right now its late to apply for d-schools but ive heard from someone that they took the exam on xmas day and submitted adsaas on xmas day and heard from some school obvious the ones that still hand out post dec. interviews...i took the dat twice already and my scores did go up but just not where i want them to be i rushed the second time cuz i was worried abt late applications and all that nonsense i plan on taking it in around dec. does anyone have any experience with this recently just was curious i figure its a worth a shot to apply for this year if some schools like nyu bu still take apps in and handout interviews any advice would be useful thanks

I guess it depends on your stats. If you can not wait till next cycle, and you have good stats, then give it a shot.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I was deciding between pharmacy, medical, or dental school. During the summer I shadowed a few and quickly realized that pharmacy was way too relaxed and boring and medical was exciting but the hours they work are just CRAZY! 36+ hours on some work days!

To get to the point, I decided to go into dentistry, but I'm not going to take the DAT's until next month.... so far, it's been nerve wrecking. But I'm only going to apply to the dental schools which have deadlines in February this year so that might help my chances a little.

I'm not going to expect too much since I'm a late applicant, but I think it's always better to try and get rejected then to have never tried at all and wonder. 😉

Who knows. I was shadowing my sisters bf who is a family doctor at OHSU. I was there with him for 24 hours and then when I thought the day was over, he told me he still had 12 more hours to go. 😕
