Grades were due weeks ago and one of my professors has not submitted the grades for one of my class. Would it be appropriate to send him an email politely asking him to submit grades because I would like to send transcripts to summer programs that show all of my grades for the past semester? Or would that just be rude and annoying?

More than likely he has already gotten plenty of emails asking him to post grades. I would consider asking him if he missed posting yours, but I would make sure not to come off as demanding.

Personally I would leave it alone - the university is probably on him already and he probably isn't going to get to it any faster just because you got on him about it.

It is hard to wait though - at my school it takes them like 4-5 weeks to mark our end of block exams and it's deadly.

Depending on where you go to school, the university may not be on him at all. The softest approach is probably to state why you are bringing it up (applications) and to ask when he believes the grades will be available.

saying you "can't see them online" opens yourself up to looking like a passive-aggressive. sorry Nick.
