I'm trying to plan out all my interviews and kind of having trouble. Obviously I know earlier is better when interviewing, but what is considered "late" for a scheduled interview? I know Sept-Nov is pretty decent... what about December? Late enough that it could hurt your app? I know this isn't an easy question to answer, but any sort of information would help me out. Thanks!

From your MDapps it looks like you've got a bunch of interviews and are having trouble scheduling them because of school/work/whatever. I'm kind of in the same boat, and here's what I'm doing:

-2 last week
-4 in the next 3 weeks (2 close, 2 plane rides)

-a few more that I will probably schedule for January (yes, rolling schools)

Basically my strategy is to hope for an early acceptance and then start getting selective. If it backfires it means that I'll be interviewing fairly late though, but if it's January and I don't have an acceptance I will have quite a few WLs, which will hopefully get me in somewhere.

Bottom line: Yeah, pushing them back isn't the most ideal situation, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Plenty of people get into schools that they interview for in December/January, and it looks like you've got a ton of interviews at great schools. I think you're in good shape.

Yeah this is kinda what I expected. From now until early Nov I have like 6 or 7 scheduled, and I have the opportunity to have another scheduled sometime in Oct (a good school that is probably more toward the bottom of my list), though I'm planning to push it back to early-Dec because it would get really hectic to stick it in Oct. Just wasn't sure if this was a death wish for me, but I guess you're right- not everything can be ideal in this process. Anyone know for sure how much more advantageous it is to interview in Oct rather than in Dec. This school doesn't start giving acceptances till November I believe.

That's pretty much my attitude. Besides, with 7 interviews early (whatever that really means), you should have a good shot at an acceptance before you even have to attend those later interviews.

Whatever you decide to do, it's a good dilemma to have. 👍 Congrats on your success so far.

are they rolling schools? if not, december is totally fine. if they are, well...you must be a strong applicant so if you're already interviewing early at your top choices then there isn't much else you can do...
