Georgia resident. I don't have a great application (stats or otherwise), but I still applied to a few reach schools. My LORs will be turned in during Sept., so I was wondering if it is even worth taking the time to write, submit, and pay for any reach secondaries at this point.

Is your primary already verified? If it is, as might as well go for it. September is late, but not completely impossible. Try to talk to your recommenders and figuring out what's holding them up. Unless it's a committee letter/packet, then it's more understandable. And assuming it is, you won't be the only one from your school in this position, and I'm sure med schools will account for that.

So you added them to AMCAS and you already got the secondaries? If this is not the case, I would add them to AMCAS so you will at least get screened in or out for the secondary.

If you have already added them and now have secondaries, I would write them now. It gives you a little more time to think about them instead of putting them off and rushing them at the last minute. It also shows the schools you are interested and are just waiting on a LOR - not sure if this really carries any weight, but its peace of mind that you have done all you can do.

I was verified in June and have already filled out and submitted secondaries to a few schools. I have also started writing most of the secondary prompts yet to be turned in.

I guess my question is: Am I wasting money sending in my reach secondaries with such a late completion date?

Depends on how big of a reach and if those schools are use to receiving late LORs from your undergrad.
