I graduated this past June and decided to take some courses at Berkeley Extension for the semester. I also thought I could manage studying for the MCAT at the same time and be ready by January. However, with all the time I've devoted to class (commuting and studying), I realized trying to push for the January MCAT was a bad idea.

So my plan is to take TBR in Jan and be ready for the March 26th MCAT. Would that be too late for SMP's (particularly - BU, EVSM, Loyola, Drexel, Tufts, RFU and UMDNJ)? I know I really don't have a choice to take the exam in January anyways...but I just want to know what I'm up against.

Also, is there any benefit to turning in the application before taking the MCAT? I'm really banking on doing well on the MCAT, so most likely I'll complete the apps of my target programs so right when my score is released, I'll be ready to send them off. Though I'm guessing my 3.1/3.1 is not going to warrant any benefits by turning in my application before the MCAT anyways.

I can't speak for the others, but my Drexel app was in the mail around May 5, and that wasn't too late.

Here are some of the app due dates AFAIK (someone correct me if I'm wrong on these):

EVSM - Apr 1 (this is after the scores come out, I believe)
Loyola - May 15
Drexel - July 9
Tufts - July 15

For what it's worth, I'm taking the March 26 MCAT and applying to a lot of the same post-bacc's as you. So let's hope that it won't be too late.

I'm registered to take the MCAT on May 26th. Too late for most programs? I thought most of them were around June 15
