I'm an osteopathic student, who's switched to a more competitive specialty....hence the need to take the USMLE Step 1.

I was more curious if program directors, put an asterick next to your score if it's later on(such as after 3rd year). Of course for the ortho/rads/anesth residencies of the world, I suppose it doesn't matter & I just need to take that damn test.

Just dreading the extra $400, plus still taking step 2, and PE test. Icarumba

They couldn't care less when you took it. Just take it and knock it out of the park.

If you took it in the middle of third year, I would be tempted to give you extra points. I think I forgot everything relevant for that test about 10 minutes after walking out of the testing center.
