I am currently waiting for my OCS date and have been selected for SNFO. Does anyone know how I might go about completeing premed while on active duty in the navy then transferring to USUHS? Any advice that can be provided on this will be much appreciated.

You won't be able to do a lateral transfer as there is no path for that. You will be required to complete your full NFO obligation and then you can resign your commission and be recommissioned into the medical corps.

You won't have time to do pre reqs until at least your first shore tour.

Your commitment as an NFO will most likely take you through a sea tour and a shore tour. You won't have the time to get the prereqs done until at that short tour. You'll want to do your best to get to a station that has a college where you can actually take the prereqs you'll need. Knock those out and take the MCAT. You can apply to USUHS while still on active duty, but it is unlikely you'll be able to resign before your commitment is up so you should plan on applying for the class that will start after your commitment. You'll resign and recommission and then PCS to the school. You can do it with no break in service.

Much thanks! Could not find anything out there to answer this question directly.

Navy aviation is so overmanned right now they are booting people out all over the place for any reason... word to the wise - keep those grades up in API!
