I just had an interview at a top tier school. I was pretty stressed out going in, but my interviewers were pretty relaxed and we spent the whole time laughing. I mean, it was still an interview with questions etc, but I just can't get over the amount of laughing and general merriment in the room.

Good or bad sign??

Well, if it was a friendly exchange, like you would have with a group of friends, I can't imagine it would be a bad thing. Everyone likes to laugh! Unless you left absolutely no impression other than being funny, you should be fine. I usually get at least a few chuckles out of my interviewers, even the really tight-lipped old white guys 😀

I think laughing is probably a good thing... it's hard to laugh with someone if you don't like them (they were laughing WITH you right?) Going into a top choice school interview, within the first 5 minutes, I cracked the most minor joke ever, and the interviewer cracked up so hard she snorted! I was like whoa.... haha

Most of my interviews have some laughing involved with them. You can be professional and funny at the same time. I think it helps-- they've seen my application and know my numbers, but not if I'm personable or anything like that. I think you probably had a good interview 👍

Yeah, I gotta go with the group feeling. As long as you weren't sensing forced humor b/c you were trying to hard to be funny, the there's nothing to worry about. I have yet to meet the person who doesn't enjoy laughing [well, unless they're trying to stay angry about something,:meanie: but thats probably got nothing to do with you at all.....]

I hope it's good. All my interviews were laugh-fests. 🙂

I'm sure the interview went well. Don't worry about it! Good luck!

Oh god, you fell for the laughing trick?

They stamped your application with a big REJECTED.

I have a similar problem. At a recent interview my interviewer had his notepad down on the table where I could clearly see it. Half way through the interview he put a huge check mark next to my name and wrote ACCEPTED in all caps. He then shook my hand and offered his daughters hand in marriage because he just had to have me in his family... is this a good sign?

I can't tell if you are being fo' real or not Cheetos, hah.

I joked a lot with my pitt interviewer and we both had a great time. I ended up getting in, and she wrote me a few really nice e-mails afterwards!

definitely a good sign!

My very first interviewer blinked 786 times while talking to me. I've read on here that anything over 500 is cause for rejection. Did I mess up?!?!

😆 I was thinking the same thing. But you always manage to put it more hilariously than I ever could.

Here's an easy way to tell if I'm joking or not... next time I say I was at an interview you can easily dismiss it as a joke because I don't have any invites. 👎

Vih I'm telling you now... if this year dumps on us we will just have to dominate next year, which means we will apply to, and get acceptances, at all 126 MD and 28 DO schools in the US. It's your call whether we venture into Canada or not.

Awesome total domination is the only way to go.

I was interviewed by a 4th yr med student.....within a couple minutes I realized she was eye ****ing the **** out of me.

I think it depends a lot on the school. For instance, practically every student I talked to at WashU said they and their interviewer had just joked around and chatted about slinkies and such the entire time.
