if i increase H2 will C increase or not. the davidson website says it does.
i know if increase C(s) then nothing happens.

If you increase H2, C will increase because you are shifting the equilibrium to the left (H20 will also increase). Basically, the reaction acts to consume the additional hydrogen gas by producing more water and carbon.

I think it might be confusing you because it resembles a combustion reaction, but keep in mind that combustion requires an oxidizing agent, typically O2, but occasionally F2, which isn't present here.
