There are a variety of ways to learn subject materials. Some schools are hands-on in a student clinic, or focus on case studies. Other schools have you look up published research articles, have you write lots of essays, or do group projects. And then I guess some schools are moving towards a distance learning component.
Has anyone visited multiple schools, or is currently attending school and would like to describe how a particular program works?
Based on current experience with taking pre-requisites, I'm pretty sure I *don't* want to go to a school that has a large distance-ed component with lots of writing assignments. I do better in face to face classes, especially when there is a chance to learn much of the material via reading and using the lectures in class to balance things out. And I love anything with hands-on-problem solving.
