That was the obvious!

Though after seeing the footage, that's all I could think too.

How about after you wake up from 16 hr sleep? I bet when you're down there so long, you miss the little little things we don't think twice about now...

After a bolus of strong coffee in my largest mug, I will do what I want to do at the moment...

I really don't know what I would do...it would be like winning a lottery and coming back from the dead at the same time.

I decided I'd try my coffee black, no sugar, no milk/creamer today. It was awful...can't do it no matter how hard I try.

I rarely drink black coffee when I'm home...but when I'm traveling, I drink black. It takes getting used to. You have to consider coffee as a form of "tea." With that mindset, you should be able to drink it black. Burnt coffee sux tho.

Ever do espresso?

Hey Cject...when you wake up. How's the coffee over there?

I mean...how do you think it would taste?

and it begins...the 2 page conversation between Spiriva and It's Z. Why don't you two just call each other?

Aside from the obvious, what would be some of the first things you'd want to do when you got back up to the surface?

Two of my Facebook friends were fellow Girl Scouts, and I mentioned that the chamber must have smelled 100,000 times worse than the lats (latrines or outhouses). She agreed with me, and then said, "Could you imagine 33 unwashed men in a hot, humid room for 69 days? GAACK!" And those paramedics who went down there should own stock in VapoRub.

That's what I love about the Internet - I get to see all kinds of human behavior I never even thought possible. 😀

So sez a person who will wash and wax a car for rare chocolate..

Have you ever had a job you hated so much, you considered calling in sick every.single.day? Or going to the bathroom, to lunch, etc. and not coming back? Have you ever been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder because of your job? BTDT. No amount of money is worth it.

I felt this way after my Walgreens internship. So I can almost understand where you are coming from. No amount of money could get me to step foot into a Walgreens right now. Guess it doesn't matter since they aren't hiring anyway.

I still think it would be hard to go from being a pharmacist to doing a minimum wage job, though. But it's your life, you gotta do what's right for you!

The only stalking around here is between you and Spiriva...I can't figure out who is stalking who though.......

No, we're a threajack duo. But you alway interject right after. I think you're stalking boff us.

Since my unemployment ends this week, I no longer have to apply for jobs, and have made the decision that I'm not going to waste my time, money, and energy doing so for the time being. I do have a job that starts next week, although it's temporary, minimum wage, and no benefits. 🙁

My three state licenses aren't due for renewal until 2012; I'll decide then what I plan to do about them. In the unlikely event that I have found another pharmacy job, I will renew them, but if I haven't, I'm just not sure.

I also posted on my Facebook page that I would really appreciate not being asked about this if you see me in public, and I also do not need your kindly suggestions that I go to job fairs, employment agencies, temp services, Monster.com., etc. No, really, you don't think I hadn't thought about those things, and even done them TO NO AVAIL? Seriously, I thought the job fairy would leave one on my porch! 🙄 In addition, people who see that post and ask those questions in an attempt to be funny will regret it.

In addition, asking me if I've thought about getting another degree will really, really p1ss me off.

You're gonna do what??

Have you thought about getting another degree ?

Well, if you get coffee from the Spanish Cantina, it's Cafe con Letche...not bad but I prefer to go over to the Italian cafe and get an espresso...they import Lavazza here from Italy so it's pretty damn good. It only costs 0.50 euro for espresso. You can also buy Lavazza at the Italian PX (mini-mart store). Don't worry, I already bought you two boxes of it. 🙂 The Italians also have hot tea that is awesome as well. By far and away, the worst coffee I had was when I was working with the British. I don't know how they can call that coffee

Nobody brews coffee american style where I at. I do have a japanese tea kettle and boil water in it to make my own coffee from time to time. I have Starbucks Via which gets donated to us by Starbucks and some of my personal folgers instant. BTW- if you ever donate Coffee for the Troops at Starbucks, the soldiers do indeed get coffee from them if you ever wondered!

Woah soldier.. What do you mean it costs 0.50 euro??? American $ is no good over there????
Well, when you're with NATO, they only take a certain kind of coin and it ain't American. What really sucks is the latest dollar drop on the Euro. When I go to the Afghan Bazaar, they are more than happy to take your money. I sometimes wonder if they would accept monopoly money...

That is unacceptable. One of the reasons you're there is to make sure our currency is accepted worldwide. Bomb the heck out of NATO!!!

I'm in, but wait until I get a chance to back to Germany....

For the record, y'all can give me as many suggestions and job leads as my PM box can handle.

Even though I think I already have a job coming my way...and if that fails, I know I could get a job tomorrow in South Texas...

...

If you do end up coming down here, I'll buy you an O'Douls and some barbacoa.

You might want a real beer if you're going to eat the barbacoa, though. :meanie:

My reasoning behind the Christmas job is not so much the money - I have enough savings to last a couple years if I stay healthy, especially because my house is paid off - as that I'm getting really, really bored. And it's going to be $7.50 an hour plus commission more than I would be making sitting at home.

FTR, I bit the bullet last night and applied for another job. The application's format wasn't a gut-wrenching experience, either. Maybe something will come from that? IDK.

:xf: :luck:

That place where I applied last night called me for a phone interview! :wow:

Of course I'm going to hang on to that call center job, but what they hey, it's a good sign. And it's in an area where I used to live and already know people.

Congrats on the phone interview! Good luck! Hope you get it!

Good luck rph3664! Keep us posted.

If it's the right job for me, then I hope I get it.

I just checked the website of the hospital where I interviewed 2 months ago and didn't get it (and they seemed kind of desperate too) and not only is that job still open, but another one is too. Either they're having budget problems, not had any suitable candidates, or nobody else has applied. When I lived in that area, I never heard anything good about that hospital although they have different management now. The building and grounds are at least clean, which they weren't back then.

You will not be missed as there are plenty of hungry mouths to take your place now and in the future.

Is the Princess the Mistress?

More likely, the Chilean First Lady.

The latest news, besides 31 of them being discharged from the hospital, is that fistfights sometimes broke out. What's the big surprise there? I'd have been much more surprised if that hadn't happened.

Folks, I'm doing better now. A combination of a bad few days and PMS sent me teetering on the edge.

I tried a fake Suboxone melti-strip yesterday that I got in the mail at work. It tasted really good at first, and then turned horribly bitter.

Is it really true that Suboxone smells like Froot Loops?

I saw my family yesterday, and they all told me not to be ashamed of what I will be doing, because it's an honest paycheck. 😍 My SIL has a degree, although not in pharmacy, and she did the same thing, although for a different company, a few years ago and said she enjoyed it. She chose not to go back because she found another part time job that had more flexible hours, and the money is better.

Aren't you the person who had the ridiculous resume with no detail? So instead of fixing your resume, you are going for a retail hell minimum wage job? And you seriously think you won't see the same issues that plagued you in retail pharmacy in any other retail job (except the risk of lawsuit is somewhat lower)?

Please do come back to let us all know how long you last at that temporary job. Something tells me you will quit a lot sooner than Christmas...

That's what I love about the Internet - I get to see all kinds of human behavior I never even thought possible. 😀

I agree with this statement. People shouldn't quit their jobs just b/c it is stressful and tiring. EVERY JOB is stressful and tiring!!!! I had a friend that quit teaching to become a pharmacy tech. She thought teaching was too stressful. WTF? Pharmacy tech is like a million times worst! I told her every job is stressful...retail pharmacy, home depot, mcdonalds, whatever...every job is stressful so just deal with it.

Yeah... I'm sure you have had TONS of stressful jobs 🙄

Why does everyone take their lack of experience and project it on others? Until you have experience, don't talk like you do.

I agree. Any job is a going to stress or challenge someone either mentally, physically, or both in some way. But I wouldn't agree that teaching is a low-stress job.
