Lecom-bradenton Acceptances

I was accepted back in October and will be withdrawing my acceptance either today or Monday. I hope this gives you hope! Good luck

I'm interviewing next Tuesday. I'd like to know the cities in which they have clincals before I go....anyone know?
There are a lot of options as far as 3rd and 4th yr and the exact affiliates may well change before you would get there, so take this with some salt. These links might give you some ideas, though:

Have you or anyone you know been pulled off the alternate list at LECOM-B for this entering class????
They have told us that we are not ranked and that they re-evaluate each waitlisted application every 4 weeks. That having been said...I was told that at some-point during the summer they will begin to rank applications as people who are high on the list are asked to full out all necessary imunization forms etc incase they are accepted. So in theory some people could fill out all of the entrance forms and not be accepted.

Normally, only those people who are likely to be accepted will be sent those packets and it usually happens much later on. Remember, interviews are still going on now and the people accepted from these interviews are given a couple of weeks to turn in deposits. There will be some people coming off the list after the allopathic schools have to make their final decision and some osteo students will move into those spots that they give up. The "trickle down" effect begins and some slots open up at osteo schools. Unfortunately, some osteo students will hold onto acceptances at multiple schools until the last moment, since there is not (technically) a requirement that they give up extra spots by a certail date like in the allopathic process. Acceptances are given out all the way until orientation is over in some schools.

I'm in the same boat with you-- and my understanding is the same as far as the waitlist process. I interviewed in Jan as well, LaLa, I'm glad to hear they're pulling people of the list... although true enough, wish it were me! 🙄 Keep us posted on how you guys are coming.

I interviewed yesterday. They said that last year they had 100 people on the wait list and accepted 40 of those people. That's quite of few, so there's a good chance for those of you who are alternates. They also said that they would not consider the wait list until May. I believe the list is ranked, b/c one of the students we had lunch with said he was wait listed and called every few weeks over the summer and they would update him about where he was on the list. How did your interview go? Was this your first or have you interviewed elsewhere? g-luck to you
The interview went well. It was my last one (phew) and I felt It was one the friendliest I've had. I love PBL, but I don't like the uncertainty of where you end up for clinicals and the possibility of having to move around a lot. It'll be a tough choice between LECOM-Br and one other school if I get in. I can't imagine a better curriculum then PBL.
I interviewed on the 29th and asked the same question. There were about 11 people interviewed that day and June said that there were enough spots for everyone that interviewed that day still open. I think the adcom is meeting today! Good luck!
Yea, I called and spoke with Heather today. She said that some letters went out last Friday but she wouldn't tell me where I stand over the phone!!! I'm in the same boat as you, Tina!!!
I'm waitlisted here too and I've been really praying for an acceptance letter. I got an e-mail a while ago saying they would give me an update on my status on April 9th but I still haven't heard anything. I called and they wouldn't tell me anythink over the phone. This is driving me crazy!

Has anyone from the alternate list received a status update today? I got an email from them last month saying that they would reevaluate my file last week and then send me another update today (Apr 9th). However I haven't heard anything from them.
I received the same email, and as of 2:50 am the following day, still no news. I really hope not to get an email but a letter instead!! Good luck to you all... hang in there 🙄 .
I interviewed late January and was waitlisted also but last time I called they told me they would not know my status until after they stopped interviewing. I thought they were interviewing through the end of April but I'm excited to hear that we might find something out sooner. If they mailed out letters on Friday then some of us should definitely be hearing by today, right? I'll let you know as soon as I get my mail!

did anybody hear? i'm still hoping for that acceptance letter in the mail too!! (last time my app got re-evaluated, they emailed me to say there was no change in my status, so maybe not hearing anything via email is good so far). or maybe they're just behind on looking over all the apps? did heather say that all the letters were definitely mailed out?
I interviewed the first week of April and was told it would take another 2-3 weeks before we heard antyhing, so I'm not sure they've moved on to the waitlist yet, or if they're doing both at the same time.

Does anyone know when the last interviews will be? I'm thinking that once they've interviewed everyone, they will be putting us in some sort of rank, just so they don't have to continually have to review everyone's file. What do you guys think?

Maybe the committee met to review the alternates and narrow the list down. Maybe since we're all still on the alternate list it means that we made it through this round. I haven't heard anyone saying they got in after this round of evaluation. Just trying to be optimistic. 😳
I know that SDN does not represent the majority, but on this site I have only seen two or three ACTUAL acceptances. Seems like there are a ton of people on the waitlist. Does this seem like the case to anyone else? Basically I'm seeing a lot of other people talking in the threads about they're acceptances and how excited there, etc (for ex. DCOM) but when it comes to Bradenton EVERYONE is on the waitlist!
As you say, it's impossible to extrapolate any statistics from SDN. One reason the LECOM-B c/o 2011 thread is slow is that we have our own forum. It's been pretty active for roommates, housing and such, so some people have definitely been accepted. Feel free to register and post any questions you might have about the wait list over there, there might be some students who know more about it. All I can say is I know a couple people who got in from the wait list and at least one of them didn't hear until 2 weeks or so before orientation. I'm sure that's maddening in a lot of ways, but it also means that there is always hope. Hang in there.
i'm thinking that if they had 100 people on the waitlist last year, it's probably close to that number this year too. i heard through the grapevine that dcom had about 63 people on their waitlist as of a few weeks ago, so there probably are a disproportionately high number of bradenton waitlisters on sdn.
I called again and specifically asked about how people are taken off the alternate list. I was told that they don't rank us and that we are pulled according to when we interviewed. Does anyone know somebody who was pulled off the waitlist last year, when they were accepted, and when they interviewed?

Lala and ajg, keeping with the positive thinking, what school is your first choice? As for me, I pretty much have all my eggs in one basket 🙄

i interviewed at dcom and touro-ny too, so i'm still waiting on their decisions (although with my luck i'm assuming they're going to be wait lists). i really really liked bradenton and touro-ny, so of the 5, i think those two would be my top choices. pcom-ga would come in 2nd, and then probably dcom & pcsom.
