Anyone interviewing on September 16th?
September 16 but I'm flying into Fort Lauderdale then drive down to Bradenton
I will be there on Oct. 14th too! 😛
I'm Sept 12. What airport/hotel are you staying at? PM me. 🙂September 12th anyone???
im looking to carpool~
For those who have interviewed at Lecom, do you guys recommend flying to Tampa or Sarasota? And rent a car, or take a cab?
Also is anybody else interviewing on Dec 12th?
I'm from FL and I know that the tolls have a cash option so you don't need to have quarters. Or if you do, its like at most $0.50. It shouldn't be too much. Def less than $4.Yeah, that's what I will probably do.
On the Google map, it looks like there is a toll road in between TPA and the school.
Does anybody know how much it is and if it takes quarters only?
Thanks!
You also have the option of driving through the SunPass lane and they take a picture of the license plate and send the bill to your address...that way you don't have to carry so much loose change on you. The tolls are on avg 50 cents.Yeah, that's what I will probably do.

Thanks guys!
Flights, hotel (or poorly-rated inn 🙂), and the rental car are all reserved now!
Super excited AND nervous; can't wait for the interview!!
I just got done with Lecom interview on Oct 14, and I have to say this is one of the most relaxing interview you have ever gotten in your life. Everyone is so friendly such that it produces a low stress environment. I love the school from the looks to the philosophy. The dean is WOW the most honest dean ever. I love how he can vision dentistry and doing business together and especially he cares about the underserved area and focus on producing dentists that would serve and do really well in those area. This is my goal also. Absolutely love this school.
About the PBL, this is not as scary as others have told you. You still have mentors and facilitators who guide you in the right directions. I know PBL is not for everyone but I think this is a refreshing and innovating idea to study. We are all adults here with determinations, this wont be an issue.
Anyway, this is just my own thought. I love this school and would pick it over others school out there.
Good luck! When's your interview?
Thanks! My interview is on Dec 12th. What about you?

The fact that some facilitators have no education in science is a little unnerving, though.

I beg the difference. In my interview, they told me specifically that the facilitators are all professors that teaches sciences and such. The 1st year will be all about basic science, but they started to incorporate more dental anatomy. I think it will be okay. I learned most on my own during undergrad anyway.
