I plan to apply to LECOM for 2015 matriculation. I'm confused about their letter of recommendation procedures. From what I gather they take LORs after interview invite. Is this true? This concerns me because I prefer my letters of recommendation to be read before a decision to offer or decline an interview is made.
My LORs will be ready at the time of primary application.

Please share your experiences. Did LECOM have your LORs before interview offer?

Thanks.

You send your letters in after you get an interview invite.

I used interfolio and submitted my letters with my secondary application. It only cost $6 with interfolio and you don't have to worry about it later.

Ok. So there IS a way to submit LORs with the secondary? Whether or not that read them before interview invite (or not ) is another issue. If there is a way to include them in the secondary I will do it.

You can send your LORs whenever you want through Interfolio.

For some schools I sent them before the secondary but I suggest to wait until you get a secondary.

You HAVE to have them in before they make a decision otherwise they will just wait even if you have interviewed.

I applied to LECOM and got an interview invite and did not have a letter from a DO. I went to the interview and a month or so later I was able to get the letter and submit it. 2 weeks after that I got accepted to Seton Hill which is PBL and is why I applied to go there. So basically you send in the letter of recommendation before your decision is made, but they do not read the letter before you are invited for an interview. So the steps are : apply to LECOM, get an interview, submit letter of recommendation, go to interview, get accepted!

Not trying to take over the thread (don't want to start a new thread) but I have a question about interfolio. Does interfolio split up the pre-health committee letter or does it send it in as a packet? and how does it show up on their website (as a packet or separate letters)? Thank you.
