Are lectures available on mp3 files or in video? Thanks.

I know lecture is mandatory but it sounds like people/you do skip it sometimes. What are the consequences for skipping lectures other than the possibility of missing out on important info? How many lectures can one miss before administration/professors will contact you? Thank you.prankster said:i think theyre available on video in the library, but theyre not on the internet. all you really need is the notes, though. i havent watched any lecture videos. if you dont go to a lecture, you can always ask someone who did if the professor said to definitely concentrate on something and then just read it over on the notes. that's what i do.

Most classes set up a note service so that for every lecture, someone is taking notes. In the past, lecture has been mandatory but there was no punishment unless you failed a class. Most of the time there was just bonus points if you were there when they took role. Things have changed recently. Dr. Ferretti (the dean) went on a war path. Between Thanksgiving and winter break, attendance was taken almost every hour and we were told that if we were not in our seat that we would have to write a letter to Dr. Ferretti explaining why we were not in class. This seems like a total over reaction by administration (Dr. Ferretti is unhappy that our board scores are average instead of 100% pass) and I dont know how long it will last. People have still skipped class and I havent known of anyone getting in trouble.

mcfreak said:I think that might have been a first year exam. Not to mention, they have started having the isp students start keeping a log of their study hours also (and their exams are separate from LDP), so I don't think it was because of one LDP exam. Sounds like they gave 1st and 2nd years different reasons. And if it is the same exam that I am thinking of, it is a physiology exam that the last 3 classes have done poorly on. Not to rag too much on my school, but our weakest professors are found in the physiology department. I think the real reason is that they are making a push to improve the school's standing overall.
