First, I would like to apologize if this is a repeat question. I have noticed similar threads, however, none in recent times, and given the nebulous arena of camera technology I assumed it was worth asking again.

I am a visual learner and have found that videos of lectures are my best modality for learning. Given that many lectures are given in stadium setting, and that it is unlikely to get a front seat for every session, can anyone recommend a high fidelity webcam, camcorder, or camera that is capable of recording lectures from up to 10 meters away with enough resolution to zoom into any board notes?

I know this might be asking a lot, but I feel the need to take any measure I can to assist myself in success.

Thanks!

There are programs out there where you can sync your powerpoint notes along with what is being said in lecture (you can even write notes and those will synced up with the recording and power points). I use PearNote for such and really like the results, they even have a free one month demo to see if you like the product.

I believe there are other out their mentioned by medical students and I hope they can chime in on them, since I am also interested in such technology.

Most schools record their lectures including ppts.

No school will let you personally record lecture materials by yourself.

If you are going to LECOM, be aware that this may not be possible at all. It will vary depending on the lecturer, but you will need express permission (possibly in writing), but most likely you will simply not be allowed to record. Besides, everything you get lectured on will be on PPT anyways, so I don't see how recording in any way would be necessary when you can just review slides and your notes.

Fair enough. I appreciate the feedback. I was somewhat afraid of that but I wanted to check in on the tech side. Off topic for the original thread but I have to ask, I do programming and was hoping to design a program that would aid in learning. More informatively, I want to dissect information and utilize it to build a program that, through programming, will aid me in mastering information. Can anyone suggest areas that could use study aids that would also help me learn difficult med school topics in programming?
