Hey all. I need some help and hopefully you all can offer me some advice.

I just scored a 23O on the MCAT. 7 Physical, 8 Verbal, 8 Bio.
I have a 4.0 science GPA and a 3.98 non-science GPA.

I'm moderately active around school. I'm also a member of the Honor's Program and have been recognized around school for my service and academic achievements.

NYCOM and PCOM are my first choices. I'm also applying to LECOM, UMDNJ-SOM, NSU, and University of New England.

Do you think that I have a chance at these schools, despite my sub-par MCAT score?

Thanks for all of your advice in advance. Best of luck to you all. :luck:

I think you still have chance, but you need to get going. Apply ASAP if you aren't planning on retaking your exam. Be aware that at the interviews they may question your discrepancy between high GPA and low MCAT. Good luck on your application process.

wow such a high GPA... okay not only HIGH perfect...
No so steller MCAT... what happen?

What's that, like one or two A- ever? You'll undoubtedly be asked "Why such a high GPA and low MCAT?" I think you have chance. Be prepared to answer that question though.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Keep 'em coming!!

Freshman year, first semester, I received an A- in Psychology Honors and a B+ in Effective Communications Honors. Aside from those two classes, I've received all A's in every other class (I'm a Chem major with a Biochem concentration.) I'm now a senior.

I hope you all are right and I stand a chance!!

well.. I know we are going on chances here.. so why don't you give it a try.
Some MD schools would also consider that MCAT score. Just tell them you had a hang over or something. (PS. don't ask me which schools exactly).
