To my fellow international students ( or anyone who has an answer):

I heard that when they ( hospital, retail, anywhere) sign up an international student you are locked in a contract for x years?

Does anybody know for sure if it's true? if yes how long is the initial "lock up" and the name of the company.

When an international pharmacist comes to the US, they may come on a work visa. For this to happen, either the individual or the company which employs them has to sponsor them and pay some fees ahead of time. If the company pays, they might make the individual sign a contract saying that they will work for the company for a specific amount of time, since if they didn't the person could just move to a new company and the original company would be out the sponsorship fees. There is no specific period of time that someone might contract to work with the company.
